Cape Cornwall
Cape Cornwall is a well exposed rocky headland in the very west of the county. Large swells often pound the headland and strong tidal flows are present as the tide is forced up over the shallow ridge between Gribba Point and The Brisons. Launching is possible from Priest Cove although it is a steep walk down from the car park. The mark is only for the experienced kayak fisherman and confident paddler. Launching is only possible on the very calmest of days as the launch mark is rocky. Rough ground predominates between the headland and The Brisons but cleaner ground can be found back towards Sennen and Gwenver.
Parking: A National Trust car park is located approx. 100m uphill from the launch site.
Species: Bass and Pollack to trolled lures over the broken ground and reefs. Wrasse may also show. Anchoring may produce big Bull Huss and Conger. Deeper clean ground will produce Gurnards and the Flatfish. Mackerel and Garfish in season.
Nearest Tackle Shops: West Cornwall Angling at Penzance and Mermaid Tackle at Penzance
Swell & Weather Forecast: Magic Seaweed Sennen (see below)
