St Anthony-in-Meneage
St Anthony-in-Meneage is a small hamlet located in Gillan Creek at the entrance to the River Helford. Launching is from a small sandy beach and gives access to the River Helford or to Nare Point. Shallow clean ground predominates although some reefs are located close to shore around Dennis Head and Nare Point. Time a paddle up the River Helford with an incoming tide as paddling against a falling tide can become exhausting particularly near the entrance.

A large seagrass bed is located between Durgan and Toll Point on the North side f the Helford - anchoring is forbidden in this area.
Parking: Parking is extremely limited to just a few spaces on the side of the road.
Species: Thornback Ray, Bull Huss and Dogfish can be caught at anchor in the entrance to the River Helford. Red Gurnard are a possibility. Flounder, Gilthead Bream and Thick Lipped Mullet are possible further up the River Helford in season. Wrasse are a possibility around the rocks at the entrance to the river and around Nare Point. Pollack may show over patches of reef or rough ground. Mackerel and Garfish in season.
