Watergate Bay
A large exposed Westerly facing sandy beach popular with surfers and beach-goers, particularly in the summer. Launching a kayak from the beach is only possible in very low swell.
Parking: A large council run long-stay car park is located approx. 150m uphill from the launch site. It is a long walk from the car park to the low tide mark. Check Cornwall County Council website for the latest parking charges.
Species: Bass and Small Eyed Ray over the clean ground. The odd flatfish and gurnard will show to drift fished baits. Greater Weevers may show in the deeper water further off the beach. Mackerel and Garfish in season.
