Gorran Haven
Gorran Haven is a small village and harbour located on the sheltered east side of Dodman Point. A sandy beach is located at the bottom of the village and provides a safe launch spot when conditions allow. The beach has the added protection of the small harbour wall. Launching gives good access to the east side of the Dodman Point and the Gwineas Reef. Clean ground can be found close to the beach with broken ground found towards the Doman Point and out to the Gwineas Reef. Deeper clean ground can be found out beyond the reef. Beware of swells breaking over the Gwineas even in relatively calm conditions and beware of tidal races forming around and over the reef system on the flood and ebb.
Parking: A large pay and display car park is located approx. 300m uphill of the beach. Access to the beach is relatively easy.
Species: Plaice, Gurnards and Whiting may show to drift fished baits over the clean ground. Pollack, Wrasse, Codling, Pouting and Bass are possible over the rough ground and reefs towards the Dodman and the Gwineas. Bull Huss and Conger are possible if fishing at anchor over the rough ground.
Nearest Tackle Shops: City Angler at Truro, Mevagissey Shark Angling Centre at Mevagissey, Lowen-Chy Art and Angling at St Austell and Monster Tackle at St Austell
