Places to Launch a Kayak and Kayak Fish - South Cornwall

South Cornwall is a beautiful stretch of coastline with plenty of small sandy bays and river creeks that provide great places to launch a kayak. Sandy ground predominates but patches of broken ground and reefs can be found. South coast launch marks are usually tucked away from the worst of the Atlantic swell so can provide many safe launch venues and fishing grounds. Even if the swell is up, shelter can usually be found up the creeks of the River Fal and River Fowey.

South Cornwall Kayak Launch Venues

I must stress that i have not been to or launched from all of these places so detailed information on the best conditions and expected species cannot be given in all cases. Most of these venues i know have been fished by kayak fisherman. The list provides a starting point to go and explore these venues but it is up to you to decide whether or not conditions are safe enough to allow you to safely launch, paddle, fish and land back at the venue. Take the time to consult with weather forecasts, swell forecasts and tidal conditions before venturing out.
