Places to Launch a Kayak and Kayak Fish - West Cornwall

West Cornwall provides some of the most picturesque coastline in Cornwall and offers the best of both the North and South coasts. Steep rugged cliffs and large sandy bays can be found on the North coast section and stunning granite cliffs and small sandy coves and bays litter the south coast stretch. Small fishing coves and harbours provide perfect launch venues and give access to deep clean ground, large deep water and shallow sandy bays as well as extensive stretches of rough ground and reefs. The south coast venues are often well sheltered even when swell is hammering the north coast stretch.

West Cornwall Kayak Launch Venues

I must stress that i have not been to or launched from all of these places so detailed information on the best conditions and expected species cannot be given in all cases. Most of these venues i know have been fished by kayak fisherman. The list provides a starting point to go and explore these venues but it is up to you to decide whether or not conditions are safe enough to allow you to safely launch, paddle, fish and land back at the venue. Take the time to consult with weather forecasts, swell forecasts and tidal conditions before venturing out.
