Lamorna

A small village nestled in a steep wooded valley. Launching is possible from a small concrete slipway sheltered behind a small harbour wall. The harbour wall has suffered damage from recent winter storms. Neglect from the coves owner has seen a once safe, sheletered slipway become less safe for launching in swell over 2-3ft. The cove is predominantly rough ground but a patch of sand can be found in the middle. Cleaner ground can also be found out beyond the cove in deep water. At low tide you launch/land on a small beach inside the harbour, at high tide you will launch/land on the slipway.

Parking: A small pay and display car park is located at the top of the slipway. Access to the water is very easy. WARNING: the parking attendants are extremely unforgiving when it comes to issuing parking fines. Make sure you park within the marked bays and pay for your ticket quickly after arriving. Buy a full day ticket (around £7-8!) to ensure your not late back and find you have a parking fine. You have been warned.

Species: Plenty of Wrasse, small pollack and the occasional Pouting and small Ling can be found over the rough ground. Anchoring may bring Conger eels. Gurnards (Red, Tub and Grey), Plaice and Whiting will show over the clean ground. Mackerel and Garfish in season.

Nearest Tackle Shops: West Cornwall Angling at Penzance and Mermaid Tackle at Penzance
