Mousehole
Mousehole is a small picturesque fishing village on the Western edge of Mounts Bay. The harbour is well sheltered from prevailing westerly swells and safe launching is possible from within the harbour in up to 3ft of swell. The harbour entrance is narrow and waves can break near the entrance at lower states of tide. Mousehole Island is located a few hundred metres off the harbour and has a resident population of seals. Rough ground can be found around the Island and along the coast either side of the harbour. Cleaner ground is found past the rough ground.
Parking: A small pay and display car park is located in the harbour and access to the water is very easy.
Species: Plenty of Wrasse over the rough ground around the Island and over the rough ground close to shore. Bass can slo be caught on trolled lures. Dabs, Plaice, Gurnards (Tubs and Reds), Dogfish, Whiting and the occasional Codling will show over the clean ground. Mackerel and Garfish in season.
Nearest Tackle Shops: West Cornwall Angling at Penzance and Mermaid Tackle at Penzance
