Perranporth

Perranporth is a large sandy westerly facing beach. The beach is well exposed to the prevailing swell so launching a kayak is only safe when the swell is very low on the calmest of days. The beach is very popular in the summer with beach-goers. It is a long walk down to the water from the car park at low tide. Perran Bay is predominantly sand and deep water can be found within a mile of the shore.

Parking: A large pay and display car park is located at the top of the beach and is height restricted.

Species: Bass to lures, good sized Small-Eyed Ray, Spotted Ray, Codling, Lesser Spotted Dogfish, Pouting and Whiting to anchored fish baits. Gurnards, Greater Weever, small Turbot and Plaice to drift fished baits. The occasional smooth hound may show. Mackerel and Garfish in season further out.

Nearest Tackle Shops: County Angler at Truro, Atlantic Angling Centre at Newquay and Sling Your Hook at Newquay
