Polkerris Beach
A small former fishing hamlet located at the back of St Austell Bay. Polkerris has a small harbour and a small sandy west facing beach, providing a safe sheltered launch spot for kayaks. Clean shallow ground predominates but broken and rough ground can be found for those wanting to paddle a little further round to Gribbin Head.
Parking: A car park is located approx. 200m uphill of Polkerris beach. Access to the beach is via a small slipway.
Species: Plaice, Gurnards, Whiting and Codling may show to drift fished baits over the clean ground. Pollack and Wrasse will show around Gribbin Head. Bass are possible to trolled lures. Mackerel and Garfish in season. Dogfish are likely on bottom baits. Bull Huss and Conger may show if fishing at anchor around Gribbin Head.
