Talland Bay
Talland Bay is a small cove located to the east of Polperro. The rock lined cove has a two small sandy south facing beaches - Talland Sand to the west and Rotterdam beach to the east. Launching is easier from Talland Sand and provides good access to patches of broken and rough ground between Polperro and Looe Island. Clean ground can be found further offshore. Launching is possible from Rotterdam beach but is easier at high tide due to the rocky platforms that become exposed below the beach at low tide.
Kayak can be hired from the Talland Bay beach cafe during peak season. Check out their website for more information.
Parking: A small pay and display car park is located above Talland Sand and is open from Easter - October. Some roadside parking is available on the road leading to the car park. Access to the beach is via a small slipway. A few parking spaces are located above Rotterdam Beach with a small path giving access to the beach. These beaches are popular in the summer months so an early start is required to secure a parking spot. Toilets can be found just above Rotterdam Beach.
Species: The rough ground will produce Pollack, Wrasse and the occasional Bass. Codling are a possibility. Conger and Bull Huss are possible to if fishing at anchor over or around the rough ground. Mackerel and Garfish in season.
Nearest Tackle Shops: Big Fish Little Fish at Liskeard, Line Bite Tackle at Par, Monster Tackle at St Austell, Kernow Angling Centre at Par and Lowen-Chy Art and Angling at St Austell
