A step-by-step guide on how i fitted the Lowrance Elite FS 7 fish finder to my Hobie Outback, including transducer installation on the Guardian Transducer Shield, display mounting using Ram Mount son the H-Track, powering using a Lithium Battery and the addition of a BerleyPro Sun Visor. I also show the Navionics Platinum Plus Charts with Relief Shading Overlay loaded onto the unit and then test it all out on the water!

I provide an in-depth discussion on the differences between standard 12V Sealed Lead Acid batteries and Lightweight Lithium Iron Phosphate Batteries for use on a kayak. I then build a waterproof battery box that can be used with any type of 12V battery (SLA, VRLA, AGM, Gel, LiFePO4). This box is a great way to keep your battery dry in the wet environment of a kayak or boat!

A pod of Common Dolphins join me whilst kayaking off the South coast of Cornwall, UK. Around 10-20 Dolphins follow my kayak for over a mile along the coast and allow me to get some great video footage of the pod swimming alongside and jumping out in front of the kayak. There is no better way to start a day on the water!

I explain how i have fitted a Lowrance Hook2 4X GPS Fish Finder using a Ram Mount and a section of Slide Track with the transducer and battery fitted inside the hull. In this video i show you how to set up a Quick Release Anchoring System for Kayak Fishing, for use with an Anchor Trolley. This system allows you to instantly disconnect from your anchor set up and return to the set up whenever you wish. The system uses an Anchor (with Chain), an Anchor Reel loaded with line, a Hi-Viz Pick-Up Buoy and a length of Floating Rope. I show you how to assemble the set up and use it in conjunction with an Anchor Trolley system with a run through of how to deploy and haul the anchor set up.
