If I'm ever to fall in i know that i am confident that i can re-enter my kayak. The conditions in the video are calm. Chances are when you fall in its in less than ideal conditions with the added problem of a kayak loaded with fishing gear. Practice gives you confidence and helps remove the fear/shock of being out of the kayak.
If i fall in my number 1 priority is to keep hold of the kayak - its your main buoyancy aid and main form of transport to the shore! Its likely that if your to fall in it is when your not expecting it. Grabbing the kayak may be the last thing on your mind with expensive rods and reels around you but become separated from the kayak and the situation becomes much more severe.
Next move is to cut away anything i may be tangled in, flip the kayak over and re-enter the kayak. Lost floating gear can be collected after your back onboard.
Next step is to practice some rough water re-entries!

I decided to test my balance too.... who says you can't stand up on a Tempo!!
