![]() Most kayak anglers have some sort of crate/box in which to store tackle and bait. There are many ways in which a basic collapsible storage crate from the local supermarket can be modified into the perfect tackle storage solution..... The photos below show my storage crate. I have incorporated rod holders, an anchor holder and a knife holder. It just so happens that my chopping board fits perfectly between the anchor holder and knife holder! All tubes are attached using cable ties. My fish measuring stick also fits nicely between the elastic bungees and the crate. The crate is easily able to drain should a wave top the kayak, leashes can easily be clipped anywhere on the sides and there is plenty of room for tackle boxes/bait/lunchbox e.t.c. I will cover making leashes in another blog post.
There are more expensive, elaborate solutions for tackle storage on kayaks but for less than £10 you can't go far wrong with making your own specific to your needs!
